Registration Certificate
The registration certificate of the bike is needed for obtaining a new policy or renewing an existing policy. It clearly describes the legality of your vehicle. Without this, you will not be able to use your vehicle on the roads. It is valid for a period of 15 years from the date of issue. Temporary registration is valid for a month only but after its expiry, the registration certificate can be renewed for five years.
Passport size photographs
A recent passport size photograph of the owner of the motorbike is needed so that the owner of the motorbike can be easily identified.
Address Proof
Address proof of the owner of the motorbike is another mandatory document required for two-wheeler insurance, which states the residential address of the owner, and is needed at the time of insurance. Passport, Aadhaar card, driving license and voter card are accepted as valid address proof.
The Old Insurance Policy Number
The old insurance policy number is needed if you have made a policy earlier. The policy number is situated just below the insurance card which is provided by the insurer at the time of signing up for a policy.

Documents required for two-wheeler insurance claim in case of theft
Tax payment receipt, Form 35 and Forms 28, 29, 30 should be signed carefully. Registration Certificate is compulsory and is a much-needed document. It can be temporary, but it is compulsory. The FIR which the owner has made at the time of theft is also needed. The existing insurance policy document, details of the existing insurance policy are also required to claim the compensation.

Above mentioned documents are mandatory to claim reimbursement in case of accident. Besides driving licence, a copy of FIR, registration certificate, tax receipts, insurance claim form are needed, too. The payment receipt and bills after repair are the other documents needed to claim bike insurance reimbursement.
